Being a Bucket Filler and Remembering September 11th

We read the Bucket Filler Book and discussed ways of filling someone's bucket. Then we did a little project where the kids drew them acting like a bucket filler and dictated their sentence to me! Here are some of my favorites:
Gotta love that!!
Look at that fabulous artwork! Wow!!
I like that response. I spend a lot of time this time of year saying that we don't worry about cutting. You can even tell a friend who got squeezed out of line... yes, it happens, that they can (gasp) go in front of you! I remind them that whether they are in front or back of the line, they will still end up wherever we are going!

We watched a little of this video from Nick News and had a discussion about what happened 10 years ago. I tried to stress the fact, when asked, that the bad men who took control of those planes did not learn to treat others like they want to be treated. I stressed that riding in airplanes is very safe and they don't need to feel worried. I just felt that it was important for them to learn a little about what happened because it is a time to remember all of the families that lost loved ones on that horrible day!
