Reader Response

I have been teaching reading comprehension for two years using the Readwork.org lessons. I LOVE them and so do my students. This week we read the story No, David! by: David Shannon. Our initial focus is on discussing the characters actions... well David is quite the character. If you don't know these stories they are ones that boys usually love (and girls, too) because they are hilarious!! If know a boy who's having trouble finding books they like, I would recommend them, just be ready to giggle.

Yesterday my students had to draw and write about one of the character's actions in the story. Well they were so cute and funny I just had to share them!

David is playing baseball in the house.

David chewed with his mouth open.

Come back here, David. (This page REALLY gets the kids laughing if they weren't already!)

I love their inventive spelling! :) To help your child better understand stories it's always good to ask questions while you are reading together!
