Being a new momma can be stressful and I'm losing it I tell you... okay, okay, not my mind, the extra weight! I tacked on 40lbs. this pregnancy and am ready for these pesky friends to take a hike! I will be 8 weeks postpartum next week and it is time for a plan... here's my new favorite recipe.
I have been a smoothie fan for years, but it was time to jazz this baby up (especially for the extra nutrients I need to feed my little one)!
The evolution of the smoothie...
I used to drink: 3/4c frozen blueberries and 1 calorie smart chocolate Boost
Last month I added spinach.
And NOW here's the best protein packed option that keeps me full all morning long!
(oops the blueberries didn't make an appearance sorry!)
Chocolaty Green & Blue Smoothie
1/2c. frozen blueberries
1 chocolate calorie smart Boost
1c. spinach
1 vanilla greek activia yogurt
This gives you 417 calories, 23g protein, 1 serving of fruit, and 1 serving of vegetable. It tastes very sweet and doesn't have the chalky-ness of a protein powder.
I have cut ties with 20 of my new "friends" and am planning to shed the other 20 clingy guys over the next few months! I hope this helps jump start your nutrition too!
