My sister-in-law Kristi started a foundation in honor of my brother-in-law Jason. He passed away while running in the Fifth Third Riverbank Run in 2011. The Jason Kinzler Family First Foundation provides financial assistance to families with minor children who have experienced the unexpected loss of a primary care-giver. The annual running of the race is today and the foundation had a lot of positive things happening this week. You can follow them on Twitter or Facebook. Their twitter feed is being updated all weekend!!

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly spoke at this years benefit. He knew Jason personally from coaching at Grand Valley State University where Jason played linebacker for the Lakers. His foundation, Kelly Cares, will generously support one family as long as Kelly Cares is alive. At Thursday night's benefit over $100,000 was generated for families in need.
Jake and his dad
This year our nephew Jake is running for his dad. You can read his story here. He had a personal mission to raise $4,800 and surpassed that! Here are Kristi's kids getting ready before the race today!
I am amazed at how they have turned this into something positive for others and if you are looking for a worthy cause to support, I can't think of a better one than this!
