Volcano!!

This is a super fun one for your toddler and very easy to do! All you need is:
1 - small glass or plastic cup (we used a shot glass, but would recommend plastic)
3 containers of play doh
baking soda
vinegar
red food color
small medicine measuring cup and dropper
cooking sheet
(I would say baking sheet, but you all should know by now that I don't bake... and you can tell mama put this one to good use!)

Mold the play doh around the glass to form your mountain, like so...

Wearing pajamas is optional :)

Put a generous amount of baking soda in the glass, about half full.  Pour some vinegar in the small medicine cup or other small glass and mix with food coloring to make your "lava" color. Use the dropper to drop the colored vinegar into your volcano, or you can do one giant gush which is what my boys did... I am FAR too dainty for this!!

Watch the happiness wash over your toddler's face as it bubbles over the top!

Clean up is not super fun on this one. The play doh kinda melts from the acidic vinegar, so Justin had to sort of pour/scrape it off the cup onto the pan. Then pour all lava into the sink and throw away the mountain. If you use a plastic cup you can just throw the whole thing out when you are done, this would have been much easier!!
