Our day started with the Spirit assembly in the gym... can you see my class sticking out like a sore thumb? Green was not the color of the day, but oh well!!
Then, while my class was at technology Grandma and I flipped pancakes for Mrs. Zuidema's class who won the can drive for YAP.
Can you flip a snowman pancake? Well, yes, apparently I can!!
We met with the kids back at the classroom to find that Santa had left the class a letter and snack. I heard Santa had a very hard time finding this treat and after searching every store in Escanaba, went into Fran's gas station for his Mountain Dew and found them there... (best teacher husband ever!!)
It nearly made the kids heads explode to discover that Santa had snuck in!!
My table was a gigantic pile of generosity and kindness!! Those are presents for me and the classroom and I am so lucky to have such wonderful students and their wonderful supportive parents!! Spoiled!
After opening a few lot of gifts... the kids opened for me of course, we had Show and Tell.
Phoebe brought in her rein-doggy who looked like he came straight out of the book and Easton brought in his yellow Grinch!
I think my Grinch likes him...
Here is a shot of all of us feeling a little green.
In the afternoon, we reread the story of How the Grinch Saved Christmas! and made us some Grinch Punch. We talked about how the Grinch was lonely and cranky at the beginning of the story and how he needed a little love!! Which is what Christmas is all about, after all!
So we used the two key ingredients for our punch. The "Joy" had lots of bubbles to tickle our tummies and make us feel happy and the "Love" was really sweet like kind words and hugs!
Let the party begin!!
Below are some shots of the Who hairstyles and silly hats!!
We finished the day by watching the cartoon Grinch movie on Amazon.
A big bloggy shout out to my husband who ran all over town finding green juice and cookies. having Amazon prime for moments of panic when your free Grinch video is no longer available on You tube, and really making this day extra special!! LOVE that man!!
