My boy is 4 years old!! (I cried inside and outside just a little bit) We had the BEST party at the cottage, with beautiful weather and our family with us!
His theme this year was a "Happy Birthday" Happy Birthday party. I tried to convince him otherwise...
Mom: "Luke what kind of party would you like?"
Luke: "A Happy Birthday Party."
Mom: "Okay, how about a puppy party with lots of cute doggies on your plates and napcamps?"(Luke-enese for napkins)
Luke: "No, that's for puppies."
Mom: "How about a McQueen party?"
Luke: "No, that's for cars."
Mom: "How about a sports party with baseballs, footballs, and soccer balls?"
Luke: "No, that's for people."
Mom: (Insert thought bubble - Huh! That's what I thought we were.) "Well, Luke, what about a Dumbo party?"
Luke: "No, that's for elephants."
The questioning went on like this for days!
So we went to the Dollar Tree... I tried to convince him otherwise, making Spiderman and Ninja Turtles look really alluring, and he ended up with...
Lots of candles and the words Happy Birthday! :)
I made the cake this year and it's exactly what Luke wanted... lots of sprinkles and candles!! The candle holders spell out Happy Birthday and made for lots more to blow out later.
We played Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
The best part about the presents was climbing on them... well at least until he opened them! :)
(opening took awhile... that's Max in the background. Looks like he gave up!)
He loved his cake so much and it was VERY hard for him to stay away from it this year. He kept asking for a bite!
And he finally leaned over and took one before we could stop him!
It was also Stella's four month mini birthday, too! She got plenty of love also!
You can't see it, but her outfit had a cupcake on it, of course! :)
We finished the weekend with some jumping off of the water trampoline that his dad-o picked out. It was GREAT!!
He and his dad-o had fun. I was too chilly and a total girl... ahhh don't splash, too cold!!
Mom: "Luke, how old are you?"
Luke: "I'm gonna be 4 years old!"
Mom: "Luke you ARE 4 years old!"
Luke: "I'm gonna be 5 years old!"
Mom: (Thought bubble - That's right buddy, that's right! Just give me another 364 days to get used to the idea!)
