This week in review...

This was a very interesting week. I left right away on Monday to get Stella, who was feeling sick and hadn't fully recovered from her weekend long fever. We went to the doctors and Luke bravely had 4 shots at his well child check. The poor guy cried and even when he got to pick out a prize from the treasure box, sobbily said, "Thank you for the shots." Later when we talked about it we said he was very brave, but very sad!! Stella, incidentally, seemed fine... just a virus!

Then the snow and rain came and we had our first official snow day. Say what?? It's only November!! Daddy was home too because of Veteran's Day, so we all stayed in our jammies until 4pm! :)

The next day, the class and I talked about what we did on our snow days and we had our own snowball fight (using paper) in our classroom!! I threw out the morning lessons and we read some snowman stories and celebrated the day, because hey... if you can't beat 'em join 'em!

In math we are wrapping up our module on shapes and the kids did this little activity where they made circles... learning the basics of geometry that circles are the same length from the center to the edge! Then I showed an oval... and let me tell you that guy just doesn't work for this activity. We all agreed he's too squished in the middle!!

My students LOVE to dance. Here we are finishing up in the gym doing the freeze dance. I am NOT a dancer... as in it takes me some liquid courage to even do the Chicken Dance at a wedding. Which means you will probably not see these moves ever, but the kids don't ever notice that I basically dance like a robot. I LOVE these little sweeties!!

Here was Eric's journal entry yesterday morning. It made me laugh out loud and think, yup, that's how I feel during hunting season!! Just me and the kids... just me and the kids. Need I say more!! Many of you feel what I am saying and if you don't, that picture pretty much sums up the jumbled mess my brain and house are. Okay, maybe not that bad!

LOVED this shirt!!!!

Gabe filled my bucket to the tippy top by making a picture of my little family in his journal, so cute. I think we look pretty cute, just don't tell Luke he was left out. He'll never know! :)

We will no longer be having rest time in our room. As Mason said, "We don't rest anymore because we are getting older and ready for Kindergarten!" Couldn't have said it better myself, little buddy!!

For now on we will be using a research based reading intervention program called Lexia Core 5 on the class set of ipads. I can't wait to watch their little brains grow!

I hope you have a great weekend! Good luck to all the hunters!!!
