Happy Valentine's Day... Edit

Mrs. Pascoe shared the recipe for her ridiculously yummy Valentine's puppy chow.

Valentine's Day Puppy Chow

I'm not sure if I can make this... because I will eat every last bite!!

Strawberries and Cream Puppy Chow
Ingredients
5 oz white chocolate or white vanilla candy melts
5 oz red candy melts (Found in craft stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby)
5 cups rice chex cereal, divided in 2 parts
1/2 cup strawberry cake mix
1/2 cup powdered sugar
M&Ms
Instructions
1. Put 2 1/2 cups rice chex cereal into a medium sized bowl.
2. Slowly melt white chocolate in the microwave, stopping it every 30 seconds or so to make sure it doesn't burn.
3. Add melted white chocolate to chex cereal and lightly stir to coat evenly. Be careful to not break the chex cereal too much.
4. Add the powdered sugar to the white chocolate covered chex cereal and lightly stir to coat evenly with powdered sugar. You could add the chex cereal and powdered sugar to a ziplock bag, then shake, but save yourself the bag.
5. Repeat the same process with the red candy melts and strawberry cake mix (instead of the powdered sugar).
6. Allow to dry completely and then combine the two kinds of puppy chow together and add M&Ms.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

We had a pretty fun and busy day yesterday passing out all those Valentine treats! In the morning we had this yummy treat from Evan's family...

Valentines Day Puppy Chow

I'm not sure what recipe his mom used, but it was very delicious!! Click here for the recipe I found. The picture's a link too!

We finished our Frank Lloyd Wright inspired heart trees. I'll do another post of the finished display, but here's what they looked like:

Some of my kiddos were dressed so over the top cute yesterday, even Mrs. Wickham was wearing cute pink heart tights. I, on the other hand, sported a heart pin since nothing would fit over this nine month belly! :) Look at how creatively, cute Gracie's mom did her hair with the heart braid!

In the afternoon, we got right back into the spirit of the day and played a heart memory game with Mrs. Leonoff and started to pass out some of the Valentine cards. We enjoyed some homemade heart shaped sugar cookies from Hunter's family!

After recess, we had one more cookie treat from Billy's family and passed out the rest of the "loot"! The kids were pumped and one of them said, "This is the best day EVER!!" Sigh... if only everyday could be this big a celebration!! :)

I was one spoiled teacher, too, and my table got quite a collection of treats and gifts! It was so sweet and the kids were so proud to give there Valentine's to me. Just check out the generosity of my student's and their families. Most. Spoiled. Teacher... EVER!!

Luke is now the proud owner of some sweet tattoos, and yes, you are seeing a container of Saykllys fudge there and a beautiful necklace. I got some thoughtful cards and several other treats, too! Thank you for making me feel so special!!

I gave the kids each a Valentine's Day No Homework pass, just tape it onto one of their papers and turn it in... free point! :) Don't forget their name though!
