Reading Medalists

Congratulations to all my students for reading like crazy during reading month, especially these three kiddos who read and passed the most AR tests! Awesome-o! :)

Kaitlynn earned the silver, Noah earned the gold, and Billy earned the bronze medal! I'm so proud!! Just wish I had been there!

Snowshoeing

Mrs. Willis, Mrs. O'Connell, and my sweet class went snowshoeing yesterday! It was perfect weather for it! I hope all of you traveling for Spring Break get there safely and if you're going somewhere warm, please bring back the warm sunshine! :)

It looks like they had a blast! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to make this adventure fun for the kids! What a great way to kick off for Spring Break!

Soo Hill Olympic Rings

Whole school joined together to celebrate reading by forming the Olympic Rings.Taking this picture was no small feat. Mrs. Wickham risked life and limb for this one!!

Pajama Day!

Teachers love Reading Month and the kids love... Pajama Day! It looks like all of my class got comfy with a good book! What fun! :)

Special Reading Month Events

As you could see on the calendar that came home, reading month is a BIG deal at Soo Hill school. What, you missed the calendar, click on the tab above to check out all the upcoming events that Mrs. Willis entered in for us!

This week we had two assemblies and one special dress up day. The first was "Reading is Magic" and here are some pictures!

Sorry that some of the pictures are blurry... the movement was hard for my little phone! There was lots of dancing and tons of fun!

The second was a Science assembly presented by two students from MSU. They did a great job and the kids really related to them well!

Friday went by so fast that I completely forgot to get a picture of the athletic shirts and hats. My class had lots of kids remember and I got to wear my husbands T-shirt, so I could get something over my belly! :)

Reading Olympics

Our theme for Reading Month is the Olympics. We have had a lot of fun getting ready!!

Torn tissue paper torches... very cool! :)

Opening assembly in the gym. I was featured in an ice skating Jib Jab with Mrs. Miron as my partner. I was really spinning her around... if the kids only knew I would be the one holding a chair to skate around without falling!

Our country is Finland and we did a really cute winter kids craft to show off our nation's colors. We are really fortunate that Nathan's family has traveled to Finland. His mom sent in Finnish 7up, money, pictures, and a tourist guide book, which she painstakingly marked with post its to help me explain the countries beauty. How LUCKY are we!! :)

Here is our door that I put together over the weekend... why are things always cuter inside your head? Oh well, it features all of our class riding in bobsleds and "sliding" into a pile of books. I do like how it turned out though I'm not sure if my idea translated well!
